The future looks incredibly promising for Canadian metal act Strigampire, who has just recently released their third album âAll To Dominateâ in December. This comes after they played the monolithic Wacken Festival this past summer, a spot they earned as the 2023 Canadian Wacken Metal Battle champs. The record is a musical explosion that straddles the line between death metal and black metal, and the newest single âBrave The Tempestâ, is a melancholic track that offers melodic introspection. Vocalist Steve DC shares his thoughts:
âIn the final track of the album, I share my perspective on the importance of being attentive to external signs that indicate the need for a change in order to achieve inner well-being. There is a slower-paced refrain, tinged with melancholy, where hope and determination linger. This song encourages us to rise up and confront life with a determined attitude. I quickly got to the refrain to explain why, in my opinion, itâs our ballad, but in reality, the song is very energetic and mainly composed of catchy riffs.â

Compared to their previous releases, Strigampire has maintained a similar recipe while also reinventing themselves a bit. Some songs have a more black metal style, others lean towards rock; some are highly aggressive, while others are more melodic and tempered. Even though it remains melodic and has nothing to do with mathcore or technical death metal, we showcase each memberâs musical skills through frantic guitar solos and high-energy drum rhythms.
Get ready to be transported into a whirlwind of raw energy and incendiary riffs because the best is yet to come for this exceptional band. Released on December 15, 2023, âAll To Dominateâ is recommended for fans of Cradle Of Filth, Dark Tranquillity, and Children Of Bodom.

“Feverishly jittery riffing, a booming low-end pulse, and bestial snarls build anticipation for whatâs to come, and what comes is a rushing phalanx of jolting grooves, slashing and searing chords, riotously swirling leads, and scorch-the-earth vocals. The song (Sold Our Soul) hammers the pulse, and thereâs abundant devilry in it too, as well as near-sung gang yells, tumbling percussive fills, deliriously exultant soloing that soars to screaming heights â and a break for a beer. But thereâs a kind of mystical melodic line that also slithers through the heavy metal exultation until the soloing rockets it high.” – NoCleanSingingâ

â“Hailing from Trois-Riviers, Quebec, Strigampire were this yearâs Canadian Wacken Battle winners. So, belated congrats to them for that. The second feather in this yearâs successful cap has been added with the forthcoming release of their latest and third full length, All to Dominate. Weaving in a variety of extreme styles under a banner of extensive melodic crafting and the sense that they are the life of any party they RSVP to, Strigampire (the name is a combination of the Italian word for âwitchâ and the English word for âvampireâ) offers up a seat on a carousel powered by rapid fire compositions, shredding guitars and a vocalist whoâd just as tickle your funny bone as bounce a hammer off it. Think Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth.” – Decibel Magazineâ

â“This has a bit of a Children of Bodom vibe, melodic, keyboardy, catchy and heavy thrashy too.” – The Mosh Pit – WORT 89.9 FM (Madison, WI)â

â“Five years beyond the last album One Fix, Nine Clouds & Six Feet Deep, Strigampire appeals to a great cross-section of underground (and above) metalheads through the work present on All to Dominate. Prepare to be devastated in a firestorm and crawl out in survival mode to these songs â as the future looks quite bright for these musicians. 8.5/10” – Ded Rhetoricâ

“”All To Dominate” is a solid release, especially for fans of Dark Tranquility and At The Gates.” – Amplified-Magazinâ

â“All in all, the new STRIGAMPIRE silver disc still impressively underlines why the five-piece won the preliminary decision for the Wacken Metal Battle Canada. With their mix of melodic black and death metal, which is driven forward by a very pronounced rock DNA, the Canadians have a very unique mix of styles with them…. you have to put the quintet on your musical notepad for the future. 8/10” – PowerMetal.deâ

â“For a band hovering in the darker sides of metal, the songs are surprisingly upbeat. It’s often the vocals that sound the darkest and more extremeâhere we have a cross between melodic death growls and black metal screeches. The songs are fast and melodic, and I found it very hard to sit still while listening to them as they all, without exception, just get you going âprepare for intense headbanging, air guitaring, maybe trying to sing along, or at the very least get the foot tapping. My favourite song is “Sold Our Soul”; the beginning always makes me stop whatever I’m doing, and then it’s just headbanging frenzy. The songs have kind of a European power metal energy to them: fast (I’ve said that), heavy, pounding, and very catchy. If they used cleaner vocals, I wouldn’t be surprised if heavy/power metallers who don’t mind harsher, rougher music would get into this, though I would advise the band not to try thatâthe vocal style is a perfect match for their music. The album ends with a cover of AC/DC’s “T.N.T.”, probably my second favourite (as of this writing) as it is an excellent cover of that classic song. The vocals here are different, a good hybrid of the harsh style and that of Bon Scott’sâdefinitely interesting, and the band’s rendition of the song is fucking excellent. I think Bon Scott would approve… Fucking good stuff, and no wonder they won that Wacken contest with such quality material. 4.75/5″ – The Metal Crypt
